ETH Zurich in Switzerland is accepting Applications for the Fully Funded Scholarships Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship until 31st August 2020. The University is providing scholarships for a Ph.D. degree in the field of Engineering for Development (E4D) doctoral scholarship program. The Engineering for Development (E4D) doctoral scholarships promote doctoral research for the benefit of underprivileged people in low-​income countries. It awards two doctoral scholarships per year and promotes innovative projects that are directly relevant for improving the livelihoods of underprivileged people in low-​income countries. the nature of scholarships is Fully funded scholarships for the students who are below the age of 40 years. Fully-funded scholarship at ETH university will be awarded to those students who already have experience in the selected research area.

Eligibility

Fully funded scholarships at ETH university Switzerland eligibility:-
  • The general entrance requirements for doctoral studies at the ETH Zurich university must be fulfilled.
  • The candidate must have experience in the selected research area.
  • preference will be given to those students who come from underdeveloped countries and  Low-Income Countries as specified by OECD DAC-list classification1 (soft factor).
  • The candidates who are applying for the fully funded scholarships at ETH should be proficient in the English language.
  • Also, should be below the age of 40.
  • The candidates should have an excellent MSc degree and they must show prior academic excellence.
  • Furthermore, ONLY contact an ETH professor with a concrete project idea.

Supervisor

  • The supervisor for doctoral studies and He/she must be an ETH-Professor and must have a guaranteed ETH position for the entire duration of the proposed project.
  • The supervisor must confirm his/her commitment to the project by a letter of support indicating his/her contribution to the project in cash or kind.

Research project

The research proposal is a new doctoral project which means it is not complementary funding to any ongoing research additionally the candidates applying for the scholarships at ETH university should choose a research topic that is relevant to improving the livelihoods of underprivileged people and societies. while choosing the research topic the ecological, socio-economic, and cultural context is taken into account. Furthermore, the expected impact of the research should be high for the intended target group.

Scholarship value

once the candidates are selected for the fully funded scholarships at ETH university Switzerland candidates will be granted a sum of 175000 CHF to cover the salary cost of doctoral students for three years
